Big week for LCA Cross Country

Big week for LCA Cross Country
From assistant coach Ray Hayes,
"Last week saw LCA Cross country in action in Maysville, Kentucky and Mechanicsville, Virginia with some stellar performances recorded.
On Thursday, October 11th, both the girls and boys traveled to Maysville to compete in the Mason County All-Comers with it a big night for our Freshman runners who captured both race wins.
The girls traveled with their full squad and all set either season or personal best times in the last regular season meet of the year claiming 7 of the top 10 spots.  Leading the way was Freshman Anna Rupp, who, with her win, set a new LCA Varsity Girls 5000-Meter Cross Country school record of 18:47.  Senior Madeline Pulliam placed 2nd, 7th grade sisters Hadley and Abby Bronski finished 4th and 5th, Senior Kendall Hayes was 7th with 7th graders Audrey Krinock (9th) and Ellie Kohlman (10th) completing the team scoring.  Anna’s time currently places her #1 in Class A and #6 overall in Kentucky.
One the boys side, Freshman Lukas Furgason took the victory with Seniors Caleb Harper 2nd, Elijah Brand 3rd, and Juniors Ethan Gamble 8th, Harrison Fraley 11th finishing out the team scoring.
On Saturday October 13th, Senior Andrew Madden and Sophomore Connor Hayes traveled 500 miles east to Mechanicsville, Virginia to compete in the XC Invitational Boys Varsity Elite Race.  Connor ran a 31-second personal best time of 15:53 for the 5000-meter distance placing 9th overall out of the 6 state, 283 elite field ( and 1049 male competitors across all races) with Andrew Madden running a strong 23rd place finish.  Connor’s time places him #2 all time on the LCA Varsity Boys 5000-Meter Cross Country list and currently ranks him #9 in all of Kentucky."
Next up for both teams is a Saturday October 20th crosstown trip to Masterson Station to compete in the KTCCCA Meet of Champions.
